Christian's 3 of 12

Growing and Changing is not an easy thing to do. Mr. Christian was not feeling the camera that day. His parents and I hung in there, and he came around.....

 .....But not right away.
Sometimes a man just needs a drink to calm down.

 Holding Mama's hand.

There is the smiley face we all love.

I can't get enough of his gorgeous blue eyes. What a handsome boy.

Sweet Kenzie making her sisterly entrance. :)

We are a mastiff family

There are no bones about it. We are a mastiff family. We rescued our first in '03, and our second at the end of '05. Sophie and Duff had many good years together. Sophie passed at age nine, and Duff passed almost two years later to the day at almost 10, this past September. We got our first puppy last February, and couldn't be more happy or excited to have one from the start. Tim and I had a lot of up hill battles with having rescues. Sophie was guardy, and fear aggressive. Duffy used to walk around and pee in the house because he didn't know how to handle being indoors.
When people talk about how cool owning a mastiff is, I always go to great lengths to talk them out of it. It sounds rude, but true mastiff lovers will be undeterred. The ones who should never own one hopefully will be discouraged enough to never attempt to acquire one. At the end of the day, I am an advocate for mastiffs, not for the owner. Having been where I have with my dogs, I have deep understanding on the damage humans can do to these very sensitive, intuitive animals.
This brings me to MaggieMae. Our very first puppy. She is a load of fun, and a handful with all her puppy antics, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
If you love the breed, there is no greater addition to your family. Please look into rescue. Even with the challenges we faced, having rescues increased and deepened our love for them. Please ask lots of questions. As a matter of fact, I have a few for you...
How do you feel about slobber? Lots of it, on your walls, furniture, clothes and floor.
What about food costs? A puppy eats 8-10 cups a day. You ready for that food bill?
Vet? You know they give medication by the pound. That's going to be between 150-250 pounds for a full grown beast. How you like that?
Health problems, you ready for the possibility of arthritis, and hip dyspepsia, and the ongoing treatment for such ailments?
Life span? Just how long do you think these dogs last? The long end is 9-13 years. THAT'S THE LONG END.
Should you have questions, please email or call me. I will tell you the truth, always. I love and am devoted to the breed.
MaggieMae, 11 months.

Montessori School Pictures

One of the many things I am blessed with are great friends. My girl Shawna hired me to take her Montessori class pictures this past week. Not only was the weather beautiful, but the kids were great. I love giving parents school portraits with a little artistic flare. I really love the way they turned out, and hope they love them as well. The weather was great for our session, and I think we all had an awesome time.

This little dude was so sweet. He gave me some fun smiles, and a couple goofy ones.

Miss Keeley let me move her around, she smiled at all my silly faces, and gave me this awesome look.

What a honey Paige is. This picture to the left, I adore. When doing school photos, I don't get as much time with the kids as I'd like. When she gave me this look, I imagined that being a classic expression, and something worth giving to the parents. Sweet dimples.

Hunter usually plays hard to get when I bust out my camera. Thankfully he knew we meant business this time, and hamed it up for me wholeheartedly. Thanks, Dude!

My boy Danny. Not only did I get to photograph him, but I see a lot of this little guy on account his mama is one of my absolute favorite women on the planet. It has been a pleasure and a joy to be a part of his sweet life.

Brooke. Can you say GORGEOUS? Oh my goodness. She was polite, and kind, and certainly photogenic.

 Sweet beautiful sisters.
Bree. This little cutie made me belly laugh. I can see under those amazing brown eyes, there is a feisty little girl in there.

Colby is all action. He wanted to show me all his tricks. He had no problem smiling for the camera. Those kids make my work so much easier.

Kyle. The big brother. I can get enough of that sweet grin. He is an awesome, and loving older brother, and I can tell his brother absolutely adores him.

I am so thrilled with doing school portraits. Thanks class for a great day!
